Psalm 3

O Lord, how many are my foes!
How many rise up against me!

Many are saying of me,
"God will not deliver him."

But you are a shield around me, O Lord;
you bestow glory on me and lift up my head.

To the Lord I cry aloud,
and he answers me from his holy hill.

I lie down and sleep;
I wake again, because the Lord sustains me.

I will not fear the tens of thousands
drawn up against me on every side.

Arise, O Lord!
Deliver me, O my God!
Strike all my enemies on the jaw;
bread the teeth of the wicked.

From the Lord comes deliverance.
May your blessing be on your people.

This is psalm 3. "The Lord sustains me." He is all that David needs according to this. This is how we should be. I know right now I'm not like that. I don't focus on him as much as I should. God is the only thing that we really need. He is the bread that we eat and the water we drink. He provides for us, and He is the only thing we need.

During the Christmas season, we tend to forget about the One who we really need. We focus on the music and the lights and the presents, even if we are giving them. We do everything for us, not for Him. I know that sometimes even when I give others presents, it's about me and how I feel after. The Lord should be our passion. So this season, when your thinking about all those things, stop and ask yourself how you can be like Christ, and serve Him.
